Mario Pavic

Mario Pavić, born in Zadar in 1975.

After completing the Maritime High School in Zadar – Nautical Department, Mario Pavić began his professional career at Tankerska plovidba as a deck cadet in 1993.

In 1996, he graduated from the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Split, Croatia with the degree of Nautical Engineer.

From 1997 to 2002, he served as a deck officer on Tankerska plovidba fleet. He took Master Mariner license and finished sea carrier as chief officer on LPG carriers. During his sea career, Mario Pavić also sailed on bulk carriers, crude oil tankers, product tankers and chemical tankers.

In 2002, he obtained a master's degree in Maritime Management from the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Split, Croatia.

From 2003 to 2007, he was Tanker Operations Manager at Tankerska plovidba.

Between 2007 and 2012, he was a broker at the London branch of Tankerska plovidba, Alan Shipping Co., and from 2012 to 2013, General Manager of the same company.

In 2013, Mario Pavić became the sole Member of the Management Board, and later President of the Management Board of Tankerska plovidba in a multi-member board, a position he still holds.

In 2018, he completed an MBA at IEDC – Bled School of Management, Slovenia.

Since 2023, Mario Pavić has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Turisthotel d.d. (now Turisthotel d.o.o.) and, since 2024, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Atlantska plovidba d.d.

He was also President of the Association of Ship Masters and Officers Zadar from 2007 to 2013, Chairman of the Croatian Shipowners’ Association "Mare Nostrum" from 2016 to 2018, and a member of the Supervisory Board of Tankerska Next Generation d.d. from 2014 to 2023.

Mario Pavić was reelected Chairman of the Croatian Shipowners' Association „Mare Nostrum“ in 2025.

He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the international tanker owners’ association Intertanko, a Director of the UK P&I Club, and a member of the Advisory Board of the FC Hajduk.

Since 2013, Mario Pavić has continuously served as a member of the Administrative Council of the Croatian Register of Shipping.
